It's been quite cold here this weekend and I've refused to put the heating on (come on, it's only the first weekend of September!!) so I've been bunkering under a blanket getting my knitting on, wearing a rather fetching woolly socks and leg warmers combo. I think my favourite thing about these colder days and nights is the cosiness of burning candles, dimming the lights and curling up with Little Mo on the sofa. I'm ready Autumn, bring it on.
you have a nice blog & photos :-)ReplyDelete
But I'm not ready!! Please keep the autumn there in the islands, ha, ha...ReplyDelete
haha jag gör samma sak! sitter här begravd under en fleecefilt och en yllefilt och förnekar.ReplyDelete
i am so ready for fall. come on nyc, get cold!!!ReplyDelete
so how to make that kind of knitting-pattern? I would try. greet you.ReplyDelete
aino: thank you :)ReplyDelete
ola: it's so simple (I only learnt how to knit at christmas so at the moment I can only do flat square things)! basically you cast on an uneven amount of stitches (on this scarf it's 23), then you start by knitting the first stitch knit, then the next one purl and then you just keep alternating the two for the whole row. easy and you always start with a knit on the first stitch on every row. I'm using 15 mm needles with quite a big yarn, the scarf will probably be about 190 cm's long when it's finished - it's huge!! good luck!
hmm looks cozy! enjoy the autumn! it is so short..when i notice, its already winter!ReplyDelete
Your scarf looks beaitiful!ReplyDelete
I'm coming over to London on Friday en route to Finland.. so I'm looking forward to some coat wearing weather.
It's still birkenstock weather in Montpellier..
javisst vägrar man sätta på värmen redan! (jag har slaktat en Ikea-fleece filt och gjort leggings och handledsvärmare.)ReplyDelete
