Parts of the London Underground are looking beautiful at the moment. They're spending billions of pounds on upgrading the stations and the trains, but whilst it's happening some stations look like building sites. My favourite part right now is the walkway from the Victoria Line at King's Cross, all the ads have been pulled down and the walls rendered a wonderful grey. Personally I think they should just leave it like that.
beautiful! one summer in italy i took millions of photos of peeling off flyers. i agree they look much better this way!

ReplyDeleteThat so funny, when I lived in West Hampstead, Fincley road tube always had the ads pulled off the walls making these patterns, I always thought they were so beautiful too!

Oh my, I saw that exact same one in the last picture on Saturday night! I remember thinking how cool it was, with all the layers. I think they should definitely leave it like that! I love the mosaics at Finsbury Park and Tottenham Crt Rd too.
