It's all snood

Finished knitting this snood over the weekend - and perfectly timed it was too - it was snowing non-stop in London last night! I gave two of these away at Christmas and I'm so happy I finally have one myself. It's soooo warm and cosy... I don't think I'll ever take it off. Until June.

I love the world of Color Me Katie. So much fun!

  20. cynthia: you'll need 12mm/60cm circular needles. then cast on 46 stitches and knit one purl one as you go round. knit 50 rows (or less if you thinks it's too long!) and hey presto - you're done! good luck!

  21. Thank you soooooo much. I will try it this weekend. My daughter will be very excited.

  22. cynthia, I just remembered, knit it quite tight as it loosens quite a bit with wear. I need to make another one as this one is ridiculously baggy now!

  23. Famapa, Two thoughts for you. I read while looking for this snood pattern that knit one purl one will stretch MORE than knit two purl two ribbing. So you might want to make your next one with that system. Secondly, have you thought of using slightly smaller needles? Might help. I will let you know how mine turns out and will you please do the same. Thanks so much for helping me. :)

  24. Famapa,The snood turned out to look a lot like yours. Used 9mm/40cm circular needles. USA doesn't carry 60cm and the yarn said use 9mm size needles. I should have used 10mm. It was a little tighter than my daughter hoped but does stretch. I cast on 48 stitches since I did the knit 2 purl 2 ribbing and it must be a multiple of 4. It stretches but not overly so.You were a big help and my daughter seemed pleased. Thanks so much. She lives in Chicago, Illinois and it gets cold there! Would not have tried this if not for your help and suggestions. Cynthia :-)

  25. Famapa, Made two more snoods but with 52 sts. Switching to 10mm needles made a huge difference. You are right on with the 50 rows! Thanks again.
