Playmates

These two have a cuddle at least once a day; Little Mo used to hate kids (actually she still does - Oomoo gets special treatment) but she's so patient with her little "brother". It melts my heart every time I see it. When I was little I had (not by choice) two zebra finches as pets; no offense to any bird lovers out there, but they were boring :) Tell me, what pets did you have as a kid or if you didn't - what did you wish you had?

  1. Oh! These two look great together.
We had many guinea pigs, in a little cage first but then outside in a large place that was closed to make sure no fox would come and get them. We also had goldfish and small turtles but these did not live very long I'm afraid :s

  2. Cute pictures! We always had cats and a dog growing up, and I miss having a cat around :)

I live in a small flat with no garden,so no cat for me, but we have pet rats, Gertrude, Hermione and Mildred-they make great pets!!

  3. These are lovely photos.
I had a rabbit called Pepper. I got her on the condition that I cleaned her hutch but my mum always ended up having to do it, oops!

  6. Lovely photos of a cute friendship :) I was quite lucky as a child as I had a few hamsters, then a few parrots and later a dog. The dog suffered the most as it used to be dressed up in all kinds of clothes - she was so patient, bless her.

My love for pets grew continuously and at the moment it's as large as 2 cats + a dog, it could be even bigger if I had more space and time.

  7. I am missing my cat ... he's still in France with my parents.

I always had cats around, I played so much with them when I was child.

Your pictures are beautiful! The art to catch the moment!

  8. So sweet. :)
When we were younger, we had lots of pets, but my favorite was actually our Parakeet, Clara. My Dad left her cage open so she could fly around the house! In the morning, she flew to the sink and took a bath in my dad's hand. Then she'd sit on the edge of our cereal bowls and try to sneak bites of our breakfast. Her favorites perches were on top the curtain rod, or the ceiling fan (The latter usually didn't end well.)

  9. These are adorable! How sweet. I wanted a cat more than anything when I was little. My grandmother had a kitten and I nearly smothered it with my enthusiasm. Poor kitten.

  10. I love seeing cats and kids like this...my boy always refers to Cheeks as his cat 'brother', and they always chat to each other in the morning, and Cheeks always finds us when we're reading together.
I grew up with Siamese cat siblings...although at one point my brother introduced an axolottle, stick insects and a toad in a boot!

  13. so much joy! the photos of me and my siblings and one of our pets (always at least one cat and one dog) always make me laugh. in one, my brother is holding this cat on his lap, clearly bigger than his lap, and looks worried at the camera... too funny:)

  14. Åh sådana fantastiska bilder! Jag blir alldeles varm av att se dem.
Jag älskar hundar. Jag fick aldrig ha en hund. Kanske därför.

  15. This is all cuteness!! My mom's not big on anything furry though I've always wanted a cat. I think I had guppies but I didn't think anything that can't be petted is considered a pet *lol*

  16. Wow, Little Mo is amazingly patient, that is beautiful!

I had a cat, black, with white paws. Her name was Tootsie. We got her when I was 11, and I had her 'til I was 29! :) She was a very fine cat indeed.

The most marvellous thing is that I'd always wanted a cat, and finally, when 11, we got one... so everyday of her life, I'd get a little feeling of joy as I re-realised 'we've got a cat!!' somethings are more special when longed for and waited for!

  18. We had an enormous New Founland dog, who sometimes lost patience with me when I as too troublesome and would pick me up with his mouth and put me in my crib, where I was stuck. He was very kind to me but really saw me as a cub that needed to be raised. Awww, I miss Robin!

  20. haha. bra att vara ärlig!
vi/jag hade alla djur utom hund och katt, men det hade ju mormor t.ex. så man fick ju sin dos (och allergiska pappa slapp den dosen).
annars: marsvin, hamster, hästar, fiskar, kaniner, undulater.
marsvin är ju en höjdare alltså. vilket underbart djur!!
annars häst. undulat var nog tristast. det blev ju mest att dom väsnades, skitade ner, och bet oss. sorry to say it.
men fina och underbara var dom OCKSÅ. alltså.

  21. I had a cat from age 9 to 21. My little brother grew up with him as well and called our cat his 'older brother'. Your pics brought back memories :)

  23. Ohhh Famapa!
    What a beautiful post.

When I was little I once had a stuffed cat that I pretended was real and I thought I was really smart trying to trick adults into thinking that it was real kitty.... *sigh* ;P

Happy weekend to you and your lovely family dear! xoxo

  25. oh, these photos are just great! i didn't have a pet as my parents didn't want to have one living in a small flat. i always wanted to have cats - maybe later, when i'm living in a big house with a big garden :)

  28. These are so lovely!
I had rabbits. Wish was great, except rabbits are not as sturdy as cats or dogs. Cats in particular I think are good companions.
I always wanted my own horse as a kid!
