Days of our summer, part I

What a summer we've had! An actual summer with endless sunny days, which is a very unfamiliar thing over here, let me tell you. Naturally, sitting in front of a computer is the last thing I've wanted to do for months. The weather is still OK, but I'm in no doubt that autumn is just around the corner. So, I'm going to prolong summer here for a while, with a bunch of catch-up posts.

In July the steam fair rolled into our 'hood, and on a baking hot day we went down to spend stupid amounts of money but having lots of fun! I took more pictures from the fair a few years ago - you can click through to the pics here.

Some people hug trees, others hug legs :)

Mormor is here

As my Mum mainly lives on the other side of the world, we don't get to see her that often. But when she does come and visit, it's so nice to see how well Oomoo and mormor (grandma) get on. Precious moments indeed!

All over the walls

If you head down to King's Cross right now (and until October) you can see a Felice Varini installation (a tip: if you go up on the viewing platform, look out for a nail in the floor - if you're the right height all the lines line up correctly). These pics are from a while back when the weather was still pants. I love how that whole area is changing, even if the new builds are incredibly unimaginative. I'm glad they've kept some of the old architecture around there. Happy weekend yo!

Gold dust

The ceiling roses in Fortnum & Mason are friggin' amazing. I want.

Hanging out with the Canadians

A few weeks back, when summer decided to visit these fair isles, me and Oomoo met up with Celine and her sweet family who were in town. I've known Celine for years through flickr (remember flickr?!) and I just knew that we'd get on in "real" life. It's so nice when that happens! Anyway, we showed them a tiny version of our London, and I'm very much looking forwards to doing it all again one day. Come back soon guys!

Little Mo pic of the week XVIV

Hey there... It's been a hectic few weeks over here again, but it should get a little bit better from now - fingers crossed! London town has been enjoying a heatwave for the past three weeks, which has been faaaaaaab. You won't hear me complaining after the past four years of wash-out summers. Hope you're all well. More soon.

Fair Sunday

So I messed up. I only had my phone to hand when we walked up and down the Hampstead Street Fair last Sunday. BUT! I didn't Instagram these, even though I intended to (hence the portrait framing), so that's good, right?! Now then... I must find that charger for the DSLR... I swear I saw it in a drawer somewhere...

Oh, and before I forget: there's a Vivian Maier documentary on BBCiPlayer for another few weeks (sadly only for UK viewers)! There's also another one being made by John Maloof and you can see the trailer for here. Can't wait for it to come out!

On Wharfdale Road

Thank you so much for your comments on the previous post, I'm so glad you guys take the time to tell me what you think! These pics are also from King's Cross, I love how all the houses have been painted to compliment each other. In fact, if you looked at the clothes that I wear, you would see pretty much the same colours, haha.

Sunday in King's Cross

Hello camera my old friend, I've come to play with you again. Damn I've missed you. Let's make up for lost time shall we? I promise I'll keep my phone in my pocket :)

P.S. This is my 800th post! Hip hip!

Thinking out loud

I'm desperate to take some new pictures, but I think I'm out of the habit. As much as I enjoy (sometimes) Instagram, it takes me away from here, and over there I trick myself into thinking I am taking pictures, when I really should be using a real camera and not a phone. Instagram is like fast food and the blog is, maybe not haute cuisine, but certainly a good proper meal. I think I need to wean myself off the junk a bit... or at least not forget that lugging a big camera around isn't a pain in the arse, but a really good thing to do.

Have a yourselves a excellent weekend!
