The blog turned five last week, can you believe it?! Whoah. What can I say? Well, for starters, I can't thank you enough for taking the time and stopping by here in my little space, for the feedback and comments and hellos. It's been so much fun to have somewhere where I can post my pictures and write a few words.
Now, I'd like to ask you a favour. Tell me a little about yourself (age/where you live/whaddyado) - it's been a while since I did this (or did I ever? I can't remember - five years is a long time). If you want to know more about me here's the Q&A we did here a while back. Also, another favour if you don't mind... One of my New Year's resolutions this year was to listen to more new (or new to me) music, and I'm not doing too well on that front. What is your favourite album or song right now? Mine is this; and it's from three years ago (but newish to me!). It makes me feel like a champ when I listen to it while I run - ha!
Anyway. You don't have to, but it would be nice to hear about you! And thanks again for coming here. Here's to another five :)
Hello! from Finland. And congratulations! I have been reading your blog for many years, I like your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new mother of a baby girl (I'm 32, she's five months), we are at home playing, sleeping, taking walks and hoping for the spring to come.
Musicwise I'm not one to recommend anything new, I'm sooo out of beat at the moment. I do like Sia, she always perks me up.

Happy 5th!!! I am 37 and my crazy life here in Ottawa, Canada, includes our three boys (9, 7 and 3), my husband, and Dave the cat. I try to go out and about to take pictures as much as I can but have been a bit too busy lately with work, family and stuff. I run a national program that promotes music making in remote communities in Canada's far North. My favourite bands to listen to these days: The Weakerthans (Left and Leaving), Vampire Weekend (M79), anything by K'naan and for a good laugh Das Racist (Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell). Can't take any credit for this, my husband makes me playlists for my jogs around the neighbourhood. I am completely at his mercy.
ReplyDeletehappy five!!! you inspire me so much! I always love you photos and your sense of humor that pops through them!!
ReplyDeletexoxo
I'm a thirtysomething in New York City and I always enjoy looking at your pictures!
ReplyDeleteIf you're already in a Jack White mood, he had a new solo album last year that I really enjoyed (but then, I LOVE him). I really liked last year's Cat Power and Santigold albums too. Writing that out made me realize I haven't bought ANY music from 2013. Sigh. I used to keep on top of this stuff...
An oldie but goodie that I've had on repeat this month: Bill Withers' "Hope She'll Be Happier."
Happy 5 and many more! Your photos have been a part of my everyday life. It's a way of being with you from our far away island... Thank you for all these years : )
