No funny eye

This is what I feel like at the moment; like Chloe Sevigny with Moomin biscuits in front of my eyes. OK, not really, but I do feel like my eyes are blocked at the moment. London has been miserably grey for weeks now and I don't feel ready for the six or so months of the same that's to come. If there's one thing I can't stand about British weather it's the lack of seasons. I'll see if I can jump start my camera mojo again, otherwise I'll be dipping into my Lomo archives this week. Hope you are making peace with October; I sure as hell haven't yet :)

  1. Perhaps it's a London thing? Could you get out of the city for a day? Today in Oxfordshire we have sunshine, cold, and leaves flying around :)

  2. i couldn't agree more. this grey, grey, grey weather is driving me mad. at least it's stopped with the torrential downpours for a day. i am not ready for october (if it's like this) or the next 6 months. just a little bit of autumn sun would be so nice!

  3. I feel your pain! Oslo has been shrouded in low cloud and greyness for days, not one hint of sun. I have a feeling the Scandi winters are gonna be much worse that London! Eeek!

  4. Cripes. I remember with great clarity what you mean, but I'm sort of dreading all that squintingly bright, 45 degree celsius malarkey in this neck of the woods. Surely a London October ain't nothing on a London February? (sorry).

  5. alice: maybe there's hope beyond these city walls?!! not a bad idea! time to head westwards :0)

brian: it's bad isn't it, this endless grey is so draining. I used to bunker down with old films and copious amounts of tea but I don't have the time now that I'm a mum! maybe we can petition for a 28 hour day?

sonya: I'm glad I'm not the only one (or should that be sad?)

lisa: don't worry, you'll have beautiful winters with lots of snow and sun. do you ski/snowboard? if so, you 're so lucky to live in a country with proper winters. the only bummer is the short days. light them candles I say!

tania: I dread to think what feb will be like if I'm already feeling like this now! gaaaaaah!!

  8. for the first time ever, i can't really complain about the weather in vancouver. it's been good, it's been bad, so overall, it's been ok. but i am having some serious blahs, and haven't been taking too many pictures lately. hope it picks up for you soon, dear. x

  10. Thanks for the advice Famapa,I dont ski or snowboard but plan on learning as our nearest ski slope is only 15 mins away so it would be criminal not to! The candles are lit (all day the the moment!)

  11. I too feel like Chloe Sevigny with Moomin biscuits in front of my eyes - most days! Was that last weekend's? Love La Sev, missed it. I could make peace with October if A: I could drive everywhere, but I can't because of the CC charge and parking, B: cafes had terraces with awnings, heaters and blankets like in Scandiland, C: we didn't have the type of rain that falls at that angle where even if you have a massive umbrella and are wearing a full length trenchcoat you still get soaked. Sigh, when are we moving? And more importantly, where?

I'm based in Amsterdam but the weatehr diolytecan be very similar to London at times...
greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey = grey for long stretches of time

I also know and hear the great outdoors help but tend to forget and stay in the city ;)
