Sneaky sneaky

My favourite way of taking pictures is when you spot something and you have to be super-quick to capture it. The will-I-get-the-camera-out-in-time, will-it-be-in-focus and will-they-see-me-moment where luck is crucial. These are three of my favourites where speed was of the essence. They're pretty old too, I shot these back in the day when my Lomo was my camera of choice in the mid-Nineties. I must get some new batteries for it, I'm so up for the challenge of that crazy little camera again.

  1. love the last photo. im so so bad at photographing strangers! i will always chicken out and be too slow and just say: oh that would be a good picture! bad, bad photographer!

  2. I would take the best pictures od strangers when I don't have my camera with me. I don't know why this happens, but when I do have it nothing seems to happen, no cool dressed people on the street...

  4. Ha, I love that first one. I guess it's only in the London underground escalators you can actually take a nap because they are so loooong! :)
    Nice shot.

  6. I love taking photographs of situations like this. Martin Parr is my favorite photographer, by the way.
Sometimes it's hard not to feel guilty when you capture something intimate, though.

  8. clicky overload: I agree that it feels almost as if you're stealing something but I don't feel as bad if the subject didn't notice (they didn't in these pictures - phew!)...

marion: yes, the LCA. such a great little stealth camera. just ridiculously unreliable though :0)

rulltrappor måste ju va exemplariska egentligen för såna bilder, om man åker åt olika håll o så gåre gaaanska sakta..perfekt!

  10. @famapa: Yep, you just have to be extra sneaky.
Talk about stealing: I just had to blog about you collecting "The End" frames. It's the perfect thing to collect. So awesome.
